On Tuesday 28 April from 10.00am-11.30am I’ll be running an online event as part of the Society of Authors at home programme of events in 2026 covering how to make the most of writer retreats…
I’ll be discussing writer’s retreats and how they can support creative practice – and I’d love for you to join me!
We’ll be talking about:
* Optimum stages of work-in-progress development to opt for a writer’s retreat: should you set aside time at the outset of your project, mid-way, or when the home-straight is in sight?
* How to distinguish what kind of retreat you would most benefit from: a DIY retreat at home, or one where you get away from the pressures of your everyday life?
* Best things to consider before, during and after a writer retreat: how do you prepare, how do you make the most of this precious time you’ve gifted yourself, and how do you establish positive habits to keep the creative spark alive once it’s finished?
Whether you’re crafting your own day-retreat at home or looking to book a mini break away from home, this session will be filled with advice, tips and questions to ask to make the most of your carved out time devoted to your unique creative practice.
Tickets are free for SoA members and £35 for non-members. Book here.
