Collaboration | In 2015, along with the team at New Welsh Review, I co-devised and project managed the New Welsh Writing Awards. I was also responsible for securing in-kind support from partners including Gladstone’s Library, Literature Wales and Curtis Brown Literary Agency as well as finding thousands of pounds in sponsorship and philanthropic support from organisations such as WWF-UK and high net worth individuals.
Results | The New Welsh Writing Awards has launched and sustained the careers of several writers including Peter Goulding whose resulting work Slatehead was nominated for a Boardman Tasker Award and Jasmine Donahaye whose essay collection Birdsplaining has been a bestseller in Wales. The competition continues running to this day as the premier writing awards in Wals.
