Writer Development Collaborations

Are you a writer development or literary agency looking to create opportunities for writers or find ways to enhance the author care package you offer?

I offer a bespoke service collaborating with literary agencies and writer development organisations looking to devise ways to imaginatively expand what they provide. Previous clients include New Welsh Review and The Literary Consultancy, for whom I am also a long-standing reader and mentor.

I’ve also worked as a reader and assessor of manuscripts for many years; agencies I have read for include Spread The Word, Literature Wales, and the Shirley Stewart Literary Agency.

The very first manuscript I wrote a reader report for was Miriam Toews’ A Complicated Kindness which went on to be acquired by Faber in 2005. Two of the most recent manuscripts I read and gave editorial feedback on were Carole Hailey’s The Silence Project (Atlantic Books, 2023) which went on to be a BBC Radio 2 Book Club pick and Joe Browning Wroe’s best-selling A Terrible Kindness (Faber, 2022), a Richard & Judy Book Club pick.

Meanwhile, on the slush pile I have spotted talent including the authors Tania Hershman, Rowena Macdonald and Sally Hinchcliffe.
